Ignition switch source?

I have a steering lock for a 70 roadster that I am looking for a replacement switch for. The one I am looking for is shown on Rallye's site on http://www.datsunroadster.com/PIC_PAGES ... s_info.htm. I can use wither 487-05 or 487-08. Does anyone know of a source? I repaired my switch but I'd prefer to have a good switch, at least as a spare.

That one is easily available, but it won’t work. The mounting notch is different for the steering column.
The correct switches are hard to find, as listed by the OP. Not sure what other substitutes have been done.

Thanks for the input so far.

Since I was able to dissemble the switch & repair/clean it, I can use what I have while I look for a long term solution.

The car is a 67.5 that I installed a late, collapsible column w/rub steering box in. I am not concerned at all with keeping it correct. If I need to replace the whole lock assembly, I’ll do that but I’ll have to see if there are any gotchas in which locks will fit the column. I know that there may also be a difference in the plastic lock trim but that shouldn’t be that big a problem to deal with.

I used this generic switch in our '69. The terminals are marked. You just have to get the wires on the correct terminals.

The back of it does not plug in to some late car steering mounts. I have a 68, tried this one, does not work. As shown on Rallye page, modules can be different, note back of switches:

Rallye says bottom switches are rare, but I think those are the US120. The top switches are rare.

Might want to try one for a datsun 510. I happen to have both and they sure look the same to me. My car is a 70 spl.

I couldn't find a 510 switch with the correct actuator. Pity.

I will order a new replacement lock with switch soon.

Slightly off topic. In looking at locks from different years I saw that there were some listed as 67.5 only. I have 2 67.5 locks that appear to fit the 70 column fine. Does anyone know what the difference is?

Actually, what I was referring to was the interface between the switch module & the lock. There are several different, non-compatible systems used. The switch that I have had a "D" shaped shaft/hole.

I can get a new lock with switch for less than $250. I'll buy that soon. No real rush, my engine parts are still in the machine shop & carbs won''t be here until March. Still have all the interior to do too

Looks like we may be looking for the same switch (?). My lock mechanism is just fine. It is the electrical switch which is no longer rotating.

Pat: How did your repair your switch?

This is the switch for my 1970 SPL311 1600. I'm also looking for something that can be used as a replacement.

You can open it up and spray inside to hopefully free it up. Worked for me. Those are rare ignition switches, I have the same one.

Well you are not really supposed to open them up, I suppose, but I did. Here is a pic of my spare one. You can notice the 3 openings around the housing edge. Those should be lined up with the indent in the black plastic switch itself. By chipping out the housing a bit I could pry the plastic switch out. At the very least they would be an opening for spraying inside, however I did extract it. You don’t want to do too much and not be able to keep the switch in the housing after you reassemble. Just enough prying with a jeweler’s screwdriver to shimmy it out.
Spray it well then put it back as it came out. I found that the switch can inappropriately rotate a bit and it throws things off. Perhaps your switch has rotated in the housing. In any case if it is inop you don’t have anything to lose, that was my thinking.
You can spray the front too because it moves in and out some in the housing.
