What caused this? Bent trunk bracing openings

Post by goldbug »

Just curious if anyone has seen this before and knows what may have caused it...

Looks like the trailing edge of the rectangular openings in the trunk structural braces are bent upward/backward. Maybe damage from tow hooks or similar? Just curious.

Attached: Pic of bent openings (view from bottom side, one is obviously removed), and hammered-back-rectangular result.

Not real sure of where this is, but is it possible someone moved the gas tank straps here to prevent cracking of the trunk floor?

Someone ran over something and it rammed the gas tank backwards.
