Rebuilding the pump is not necessarily the answer. I did the early pump on my '67 as part of the over-all job. And upon start-up the pivot shaft which I had not touched walked out to one side and it leaks oil. I got it back in and got the leak down to perhaps a drop every ten miles, but I still have to replace the pump.

Yep, The earliest pumps were (are) bad about that. The later Kyosan's corrected the shaft issue. They are much better in that regard.

Hoping I don't have a pivot shaft issue... stay tuned next week when the new old stuff arrives...
