Window Crank Replacement Knob 68-70
Can anyone recommend a good replacement for just the knob on a 68 window crank? I see a lot online but not sure if the screw size is correct or important. Thank you

Most 510,Z cranks work. I got a Dorman replacement for a 210 years ago and came with center screw. The original cranks are pretty chincy.

If you are talking about just the knob on the end of the crank arm, I think that they are riveted on. If you screw one on it won’t be able to rotate and would make cranking awkward.

Exact reproductions here. The inner steel insert, with knurl and flanges that are set inside the rubber, lock the rubber in place and are better than original as many original knobs peel off when old. The shaft that extends from ours from the knob is long enough to allow, with the spring wave washer, flat washer and set screw in place and tight, the knob rotate easily. Set screw is held in place with Loctite supplied.

If you do use a screw in type, use a wave washer and then Loctite the screw to maintain the clearance.. If you have the original, you could drill it out and epoxy in a threaded insert and go from there.
I had used a set of Cal Custom Volkswagon cranks on my 69. Not totally correct, but period correct

Use a little white grease on the rotating shaft of the knob during assembly.
