You all asked for pictures so I will attempt to post some. Yesterday and today, I taught myself to weld by fabricating a gantry to raise the body on while I restore the chassis. I still need to build the sled and mount the winches. I used thin wall (16 gauge) so that I could practice welding on something difficult. It is still not as thin and the roadster sheet metal, so I will still need to practice on some 20 gauge. I intend to do all work except the final body finish and painting. I figure that is left up to a pro if you want a nice job.

Okay, no pictures right now. I need to read up on how to post. I know I will find instruction somewhere on the forum, so don't worry about repeating instructions that are already available.

Holly Crap!! That’s a serious piece of equipment you built there. Should of given you plenty of welding practice. Most just use an engine hoist. Winches too! While you’re at it you might as well add little motors to the wheels so you can just push a button to move it in and out of your garage

I should point out that a very good friend (Don) was instrumental in helping me fab and weld this structure. It would be very difficult to do all of this by yourself. It is a very dedicated friend that would give up 2 full days to do something like this. He is building astreet rod out of a '36 Dodge truck. At times, I help him too.

I had pictured an A frame or something. That is a marvel of over engineering!
