Tach cable

Decided to check out my tachometer today as it had stopped working a couple weeks back and was just making a clicking noise while running. It had stopped before but was fixed by giving the cable a nudge behind the gauge. Now for some reason my car has a cable that is 3 feet longer than necessary. I don’t know where it came from or what car it was designed for but it certainly isn’t for a roadster. Anyway, I was thinking I was going to have to yank the gauge and see what was going on. Thankfully(?) when I disconnected the cable I found it was broken about 6 inches from the end from being snaked and coiled all around under the dash. But, the true happiness is rummaging through the bins of spare parts in your shed and finding a perfectly good one (of the correct length, too) that gets you back in business within minutes. Yay for happy endings to a nice Saturday afternoon.

Make sure the replacement cable is adequately and correctly lubed or there will be a case of deja vu
