1968 2000 I am trying to take mine out. I have all bolts out. I have the collar off down below and it won’t budge. Has anyone else had this problem? Any guidance? Chris

Is that straight piece threaded into the manifold than the collar?

If a stock manifold, there may be a brace near the engine mount. Make sure you have all the manifold bolts off at the head, some of the connections are shared with the intake.

Do you have the carburetors off?

I have carb off. I have everything out but the manifold on that side. All bolts are off. The collar is pushed back underneath and it’s still solid.

If every bolt and connection is off, and every bracket removed, then it may have been stuck in place with some sort of sealant. If you can't "wiggle it" loose with leverage on the manifold itself, then perhaps a dead blow hammer or using a piece of wood on the manifold near the connection to the head can help break it loose. Just use something soft as an interface, the cast Iron could be brittle if you hit metal to metal.

+1
One little bolt, down low, towards the front of the car, easy to miss.

Can I post pictures here? If so I can’t figure out. The collar slides over with 3 bolts. I took bolts off slid collar back. What should I dead blow hit the 3 screw studs? They should go with the manifold? Chris

As mentioned if it still has the heat shield that attaches to the front of the exhaust manifold and motor mount then it is not going anywhere.

It is not attached anywhere besides under car at collar. I’m gonna try hitting it with heat. Chris

I'm betting that someone welded it. I have seen that before.

Those who thought it was a screw............ wrong. Those who thought it was heat shield in..........wrong. Those who said it was welded............correct. Thanks everyone for the help. Chris
