SPL310 - Maiden Voyage

Post by datsun65 »

Well...Got the brakes fixed on my roadster this weekend...

Since the car was fixed in San Francisco, but my home is located about 25-30 miles away...She went on her first 'extended' highway voyage.

What a blast!!!!

I wasn't driving the car (except for local around the block purposes) because of the lack of a working tempurature gauge..Well, guess what...The car stays very nice and cool (160 degrees) and the gauge does work (when brought to temp). I'm so used to seeing the roadsters with cooling issues, that I'm not used to seeing a low gauge reading :)

Took the roadster down highway 280 which is a beautiful, open scenic drive from San Francisco, back to San Mateo. Was running running late getting back home...so I let the 1500 fly and she did...So much fun. Great cool, crisp sunny day...was passing cars left & right on the way home.

Still have a few kinks to work out on her, but the drivetrain on the car is amazing!!!

Have a great weekend...

Or was it the "powered by OHC"?
Oh, come on, I saw the pictures. Critisism coming from the guy with his engine installed upside down with the overhead oilpan

Hey congrats on the drive, I'm still working on gettin mine ready for its first drive under my ownership.I was putting it in first gear and letting it drive forward, and then putting it in reverse and drive it backwards, but i could only drive about 15 feet (my moms mini van was in not running condition cause of a fuel pump and was blocking the driveway) and a few mickey mouse things need to be done but congratulations, very happy for you...

Also I've never heard of an svt mini van?
And why would you put a GTR badge on a roadster? Michigan 67

Nah, I was playing, I wouldnt really put GT-R badges on my car! The van was sorta like this but it had big SVT badges and SVT rims...

I don't know, a 300 HP minivan might be fun, add all wheel drive, the minivan from hell.

I always wanted a REALLY fast AMC Pacer, nice powder blue or pale yellow, the white interior, 300 horsepower, quiet exhaust, wide steel wheels with hub caps. But I do have odd taste.
