67 SU carbs

Post by drivercar3 »

good afternoon all!
On my 1600 I can't get any vacuum to one of the carburetors . Even if I lift the cylinder inside the dome there is no change in idle speed.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks

It's very important to understand how the linkage of these carbs work individually and together in order for the engine to operate properly. So scan the manual (available in the tech wiki I believe) to familiarise yourself, purchase a carb balancing tool (unisyn is cheaper, the "snail" version is better and easier to use), then play with the linkage to understand what happens. At this point, one carb is not really doing much.

I see that you're new to our family... welcome. If desired, post your location and it's likely one of our friendly Roadster representatives will be willing to come by and help unless you're way off in the boonies, though we like road trips too...
