I'm not very good at sifting through the search results - I think I've seen a few that seem to suggest that +20 would most likely fit?

Does anyone have pictures of this?

For some reason wheel specs always make my head spin. Waiting to hear back on center bore on a set that are 14x6" 4x114.3 +20. Of course if the center bore is too small, it won't matter anyway.

Of course, my 1600 came with a nice set of 15" Panasports...I should just be content with those. Plenty of other things that could use $$

You can always sell the Panasports to finance or offset the cost of replacements that you want.

Yeah, I probably will if I do replace them with something else. I know plenty of people want them. Heck, I don't dislike them, but just might go another direction.

I have 14 x 6 with zero offset on the front of my '69, which has been lowered about 2" and they fit fine. Tires are 195/60. Ultimately I may put 15's on.
In my opinion those wheels-even with zero offset, are too narrow for the rear. I have the same wheels in 14 x 7 zero offset that are on the rear. I will probably be putting 205/60's on them for the time being.

14x6 +20 is an easy fit on on 67 with no issues front or back
Recommended tire sizes are 195/65/14 - 195/60/14 - 185/65/14 - 185/70/14

You need 73mm hubs or larger in the front, if the wheel hubs are smaller and it’s a good deal having them opened up at a good machine shop is usually around 25$/each

On a side note, how do you like the OHTSU FP7000 tires on the Roadster? I was looking around for 14" tires in 195/60/14 and 185/65/14 to see what was available and saw the OHTSU. I actually am running them (although in 205-55-16) on my Celica GT-S right now, and like them so far, but it's only been a few months and is of course a bit different application than the Roadster!

The person selling the wheels I'm looking at said they couldn't remember if the bore is 70mm or 73mm. If they are 73mm, I'm going to be very tempted to pick them up. If 70mm, I'll probably hold off rather than go through the hassle of having them machined.

Such a helpful group. We're very happy with the 225/50/16 OHTSU FP7000 on my wife's BMW Z3. The price is good, they have been a real upgrade from the tired BFGs that were on there before. I've run OHTSU tires before with good results.

Ohtsu is a division of Sumitomo Tires ans a sister company to Dunlop and Falken ,
When falken moved up market due to their success in motorsports Sumitomo re branded some of their earlier successful tires as the FP7000 and FP8000. Cheap good quality tires

They offer plenty of grip for a roadster and are a great choice for small light cars like ours , I’m very happy with them

Thanks again everyone. Good to hear the positive feedback on the Ohtsu on multiple platforms. I have found them to be very nice - especially considering I paid about $50 per tire for my 16". Looks like I'll probably go with them for the Roadster as well, whether for these 14" wheels if I buy them, or on my Panasports (they have Yokohamas with lots of tread...but they are a good 15+ years old).

Well...I pulled the trigger. The seller said the center bore was 73mm without knowing what I was planning to mount them on.

The wheels in question are Rays Volk II manufactured from 1977-1987 (the ones I bought look to have an 80 stamped in them). I searched on here but couldn't find anyone using them.



Unfortunately, they are missing the PCD covers, but I think they still look nice. Too bad the stickers on the caps aren't in better condition though.

Fingers crossed that they actually fit well when they come. If not, hopefully I can sell them without too big a loss.

Edit: I won't be selling the Panasports until I've mounted these and know for sure they will work and I actually PREFER them on the car (which also probably means until I have the car running and moving under its own power). BUT, I realize our classified section we need to post prices. Does anyone know where I can go to reference fair prices for used Panasports?

Well, I dunno what the deal is....but they apparently don't fit. They seem to be rubbing inside. Maybe the guy had the offset wrong? I don't see it marked on the wheels anywhere. Maybe the PO's new brake lines don't fit as factory (but I'm not so sure it's not more than just brake lines rubbing).

This is based off of about 2 minutes in the garage slipping them on, then coming inside (and then the wife coming home and helping her unload groceries, and now typing onto 311s.org). But it didn't seem promising.

First question is what tire size is on them ?
Second just take a picture with your phone so we see what may be rubbing
3rd do you know how to measure backspace? If not follow this guideline and tell us the backspace (we will confirm offset)

There are not any tires yet. They are just wheels. I mounted it up just to see how that fit before I bother buying tires.

I went back out later to get a better look at rubbing and to take pictures...but got sidetracked when I discovered all my grease boots are mush and coming to pieces.

That said, as far as I could see from what I did inspect, the rubbing is just the brake line on the side. I'm guessing whoever ran the new line may have been a little more sloppy than factory since it had 15" wheels.

I will try to do some measurements over the weekend, or whenever I get time.

Just watched the video. That is a huge wheel!

I did do some measuring with a tape measure and level. Then did some calculating based on my understanding...and came up with the offset being about +17mm.

This jives with an image I saw on kyushashoes.com that had a 17 in a column beside the 14x6 wheel. I had figured that column might be for offset even before measuring, and since my relatively imperfect measurement (backspace measuring a hair under 4 3/16" or 4.1875") calculated out to 17.4625mm, I'm guessing that is indeed what that column is for.

As for the calculation, here's what I did...let me know if I'm off base. I took the edge to edge width (not bead to bead) of 7" and subtracted 4.1875", giving me 2.8125". With the center line of 7" being 3.5" I subtracted the 2.8125 from that...giving me .6875" times 25.4 to convert to mm. Pretty sure I added some steps, as I could have just subtracted the 3.5 from the 4.1875" to find what was additional. Or maybe I'm totally wrong?

All that said, after having a chance to get a better look, I think the rubbing I heard when spinning the wheel was just the brake line beside the caliper on the inside of the wheel. It just needs a little massaging to tuck in a bit better and should be fine. I don't see anything touching anywhere when turning (well, there's a bit of scraping noise...but that's coming from the steering column on the heat shield )

So, I was a bit rash yesterday. I think they should fit fine after all. And they even cover the hub well. The center caps fit on easily, even if the years have been rough on them. But, my 1600 is a bit rough as well.
