How many brake/clutch retaining and indexing clips?

These are retaining and indexing clips:

At least two of each are used to connect the front brake hard lines to the flex lines (Items 59 and 60):

The parts manual and some vendor sites indicate three of each are needed, but it isn't clear whether just for brake lines, or also clutch and maybe late engine oil pressure gauge. Luckily, the latter doesn't pertain to me, however, I'm not sure on the clutch hardline to slave flex line.

Also unsure if there's one or two on the rear brake line, i.e. the weird front-to-rear hard line transition just forward of the rear axle housing and/or hard line to flex line above rear axle housing. These three items I have bagged and tagged as:

"Final brake lline from behind trans corss-member to upper shock mount tubing."

Yeah, not exactly clear....and I wrote it.

Additional confusion is the difference in the retaining clip sizes I have that I didn't bag 'n' tag properly:

Normally, I would just look at my parts car, but these items and connections are no longer there.

Would love some guidance. Hate to order three when I should order four or more.

Thanks.

Played with the old parts and new hoses, and figured it out. You need 4 indexing and 4 retaining clips for the brake lines: front left, front right, front to rear hard lines junction, and rear hard line to flex line.

Clutch hard line to slave flex line different size bracket and connections, so not needed.

EDIT: Well, at least for a '66-'67 1600.

Hope this helps someone else.

Cheers.

I purchased retaining clips from one of the vendors and was not able to use them on my '67. They were waaaaay to high. In other words it would have taken waaaay too much force to push them in. I cleaned painted and reused the old ones.

IIRC, they were a bear to get out, so I'd expect they'd need a little pressure. Hopefully, not with a 5 LB jeweler's hammer.
