Hi Everyone, Here is my first of many dumb questions to come. Thanks in advance. I have what y'all call an 'Alvin hardtop' for my 67.5 1600 project. I don't currently have a soft-top convertible, but since I'm in San Diego, that's non-negotiable, and I'll be installing one once the car is running. But I also like the idea of a hardtop as an option, and I do like the 'Alvin' top - it's really well made. It doesn't seem like it would work, but I swear I saw a thread somewhere showing a hardtop that actually fit over a soft-top??? But I can't seem to find that thread... maybe (likely) the crazy world is taking its toll on me:Â
So, Very Dumb Question #1: Would my "Alvin" (or any other) hardtop fit over an installed soft-top convertible? Thanks everyone.Â

Re: 'Alvin' Hardtop question
If I understand your question, you need to lower your soft top to install the hardtop.

Re: 'Alvin' Hardtop question
To further clarify, yes, you can have the softtop and the hard top on the car at the same time, just the soft top has to be down.

Re: 'Alvin' Hardtop question
The hard top will fit better with the soft top un-fastened to the twisties and down because the hardtop will sit over and on top of the top otherwise. That's my brother not me posing next to my car.
