Computer for KA24
My Roadster has had a KA24 engine swap, but all the injectors were plugged and a weber carburetor mounted. Today I cracked the intake manifold when replacing a temperature sensor...the threads split! I don't know where the previous owner sourced the intake manifold that has a place to mount the carburetor...if I could find that it would be the easiest solution to just unbolt and replace. If I have to put a stock injector manifold, with injectors...where might I source an aftermarket computer to control the fuel injectors?

Re: Computer for KA24
You’ll need more than just a computer if it was running on carbs
I would expect it would need a high pressure fuel pump, TPS, and a few other things since you’ll be essentially doing an EFI conversion
That intake was most likely customer made , If it was mine I would just contact Excessive and ask them to make me one for a pair of Weber

If you decide to try EFI, give megasquirt a try. I've been very happy with my megajolt, though I don't know if they're made by the same guys...

Or you could repair the damage... not that hard.

A shop could weld that up no problem and retap it.

Re: Computer for KA24
Looks like a modified KA24 intake manifold for a Frontier that has been modified.

Re: Computer for KA24
I've figured out I have an early KA24, manufactured between 1990 and June of 1992 for California, and 1990-94 for Federal cars. The intake manifold I need is part number 1400186G10. I tried to seal it with JB Weld...and it still leaks a little. It might be a mess to try to remove that and have it welded and tapped.

Still probably worth it to take it to a shop to find out if it can be repaired and how much.flying4fish wrote: Wed Jun 10, 2020 3:24 pm I've figured out I have an early KA24, manufactured between 1990 and June of 1992 for California, and 1990-94 for Federal cars. Re: Computer for KA24
I found one! It came off a 1990 D21 Nissan truck. $40. A lot cheaper than taking to a TIG welder on the Big Island.

Problem solved! Didn't realize you were on Giligan's Island

Re: Computer for KA24
Not as sparsely populated as Gilligan's Island, but virtually impossible to find parts here or even find anyone to help work on/fix the car! I'm having to ship that intake manifold from the mainland...but it's worth it for the enjoyment of driving with the top down with awesome weather and amazing scenery, all the while knowing you've got the only Datsun Roadster on the island.
Aloha,
Michael
