I have also had success on various components with a universal joint, better yet a swivel socket as they are more compact.

I used a set of wrenches from home depot, extra long and thin walled. I was able to get in there and tighten the bolts. As others have said, carbs off and out of the way.

Bellhousing bolts snug ?
Exhaust flexing ?
What others pointed out as well
Sure it not suspension related ?
Most of the chirps I chased were of the metal to metal. nature

I think (and hope) that I may have found the problem. The gasket from the header collector to the exhaust has broken apart and pieces have come off. After I change the gasket I'll know for sure. Anyone know where I can get a gasket quickly?

Autozone.
They do disintegrate. Some use better gaskets that are more durable, Ebay for that

Found one at NAPA. Installed it last night. Will start it up this afternoon. Hopefully it will be very quiet.

Got rid of most of the chirp by replacing the collector gasket. There's just a slight chirp until it warms up. Very happy that I didn't have to take the carbs and header off :D

There are some really good collector gaskets and then the usual ones. So if it bugs you, you can try a thicker, better gasket to see how that works
New bolts to tighten it down help too, instead of the usual rusty ones.
Nice you didn’t have to do the exhaust header etc

You can use what I installed years ago. Summit or Jegs has a soft aluminum gasket, lasts forever. If you remove it be sure to put it back the same way.

I knew it was you who posted so I used your handle in the “Author“ box and then “ header gasket” , or something like that.
Easy peasy :D
It’s only been 8 1/2 yrs
