I cought the roadster fever

Post by Maggie »

Hi, I'm new here. I just recently bought a roadster. I found this site by accident and I love it. You'll be hearing from me quite often.

Is it me or have there been more female owners showing up recently? Just an observation--I think it is probably a good thing.

Hmmm... not sure about the "babe magnet" thing.

When I bought my roadster from the previous owner, as I went to drive off he muttered "there goes the last chick-magnety thing I owned".

Funny but the only attention I ever seem to get is from old men and little kids.

I've also since found out the previous owner was gay! Maybe that explains it - or maybe it's just something about my car!! ;)

I'm from Brownsville, Texas. Brownsville is about 20 minutes from South Padre Island and 2 minutes form Mexico. I bought a 1970 Spl311. I found it on ebay in California and had it shipped to San Antonio. I can't wait to get it looking and running as good as some I've seen here on this forum.

Good--another roadster migrates to Texas. There is a decent group of owners here in the Lone Star state.
I am in the long process of restoring my car (it came from Seattle) but once I get it back on the road I want to get together with some locals for a run. I am shooting for having it done on 3/11 but there is still a lot of work to be done, so I could easily shoot through that target date.

I want my car's picture on here too! How do I do it. I have a digital camera but how do I get it from there to here? I'v been working at restoring my roadster for about 2 months and have learned alot. At this point I'm trying to figure out the tach oiler system. Some body had the tach line at the bottom of the dist. to the vacume advance. It is running pretty good, just a few little problems.

Hi, No it is red with black interior. I paid 2700.00. It came with a hard top that is in great shape. As soon as I figure out how to get pictures on here I will post them.

You could link the ebay auction (they stay up for a couple of months after the bidding ends) if you want to show pictures.
In general, in order to post pictures on your posts here you need to upload them somewhere (there is a new picture-hosting place linked to on the main forums page that you could use) and then type into your post the URL of the pics and then surround it with Img tags by selecting the text of the URL and then clicking the "Img" button, second from the left on the post editor.
I think you should be able to upload an avatar to go next to your name on posts within your user profile.

...or include a pic when you register your car w/ Steve (aka Mister 311s Webmaster), and he might create an avatar for you like he did for Fairlaydee.

Yes, send me a picture and I will do an avatar for you. Or give me the Ebay auction address and I may be able to get to it still. Or.........Just send me a picture. Is your car in the registry? Welcome by the way.
