I guess someone should bring it up, and since I already have flights booked, might as well be now.

I have to assume, it's not happening with all of the restrictions at the moment?

I'm curious as well. I'm registered and keeping our hotel reservation. Just got a e-mail from the hotel saying they are closing from today to 4/9.
Assuming the mandate is lifted thereafter I would still like to attend Solvang. There's so much to do there anyways for the family. No clue what the climate will be like in 3 weeks...

I am keeping my flights and hotel as well. I have to think the panic will be minimized by the show and still want to attend.

HI Everyone,
We have a lot of speculation, fears, and rumors due to the COVIG-19 Corona-Virus scare.
I've been stay in close contact with the City of Solvang and at this point, we are still having the show as scheduled.
I am speaking with them again on Tuesday for an update. I have been calling registrants individually to let them know next steps. If I haven't spoken to you yet, I will by the end of this weekend.

I'll put an update again Tuesday Night.
Thank you for your concern and look forward to speaking with you.
If you want to call me, call 818.495.4890

Good Evening All,
It comes with a very heavy heart that due to the worldwide Corona Virus pandemic and with all Local, State and National self quarantine rules that have been put into place over the last few weeks, We need to make the responsible decision for the safety of everyone in our wonderful community.
Effective today, We have cancelled the Solvang Datsun Roadster Classic for April 24th and 25th 2020.  Your health, well being and safety is much more important than a Car show.  Our show is much more than a show.  It's friends, families, heritage, a sense of belonging to a great car manufacturer and keeping a wonderful hobby alive.
The 33rd Annual Solvang Datsun Roadster Classic will be celebrated on April 23rd and 24th 2021 in Solvang California.
If we can get a venue in Solvang in 2020 i will let everyone know, but at this point, i think waiting until next year is probably best. Be safe and call me if you have any questions.

That’s too bad, but it is probably for the best. And you are 100% right:

“It's friends, families, heritage, a sense of belonging to a great car manufacturer and keeping a wonderful hobby alive”

It will be twice the celebration next year!

In the current situation, I agree with the decision Harlan. All our racing has been suspended through the summer as well. Trying to plan into the uncertainty is just impossible.

No Starbucks, and now this— :smt099

Seriously though, had to happen as things exist now.
Thanks to Harlan and others for their efforts to put on the show.

I was looking forward to my 1st Solvang Show to meet everyone and put a face to the name with or without my roadster. But as many have said, it is the right thing to do. Things will get better out there, keep the faith and stay healthy.

So go the best laid plans of mice and men! I have not been to Solvang since the very first one, but there was a strong possibility that we might have shown up this year. Both my wife and I planned and decided to go "on-call" for work in February in order to have more control over our work time to start traveling abroad and do some US based Roadster road trips. We have kids overseas, and our plan was to go to see one daughter (Airforce )in Italy in the next few months, then on to Germany or Portugal depending on where our other daughter was, and in the meantime go drive The Road to the Sun in Montana. NOT!

I appreciate all the work the organizers did, so hopefully the situation will change enough that we can continue to enjoy our cars and keep our families healthy.

Harlan:

I'm sure you have plenty of out-of- pocket expenditures for the show that you are now on the hook for. I, for one, don't expect or want a refund from you.

I also agree with Shannon. We are all disappointed that there will be no show this year. We all looked forward to meeting all our Roadster friends that we have seen over past years. But, I especially feel bad that you spent the entire year, planning and organizing this event, and it had to be cancelled.
