Finally finished my wiring harness and put it on the dash. It's only been several months now since I first started it. Put in my rebuilt tach and now GPS speedo by Jon. Small gauges will be later. Put the dash in the car tomorrow.

Pulled the seat down last night to look at for redo. Ugh, rusty runners and shot webbing. Ordered a 65 mustang seat foam to try and fit it as in the other post about it. If I can get it right I'll order a second one. I don't like hog rings, need a cutter for them.

Hey Curtis, please keep us posted on the mustang foam, I’m doing my seats right now and very curious to see how they work out for you

I just finished disassembly of the seats and sending to bead blast before painting , I ordered polypropylene and rubber webbing which would last about twice as long as the Pirelli rubber bands

For the hog rings that holds the bands a flat screw driver and a pair of pliers did the job quickly and efficiently

Did you get the seat foam yet? I’m ready to order foam and wanted to know how they compare as a starting point

Pjackb please share why the Pirelli webbing is so inferior. The Pirelli is faced with fabric which I believe is polypro.

I have Mustang foam and a set of Dean's seat covers for my '66 survivor. Gonna try my passenger side seat this weekend. Original webbing is surprisingly intact. Might tighten it up a bit. Have cleaned and repainted the frame. I'll report my results. Pat

I haven't got around to the seat foam yet. After doing some searching and getting some photos and measurements the MGB foam looks really close. I'm going take a seat over and compare.

I talked to a number of professional upholsterers and what they said almost unanimously is that Pirelli webbing is great but they only will install it when a customer explicitly wants that for originality of the chair/seats or if it’s low usage the 2 main reason are costs and longevity, Pirelli webbing will sag , is more susceptible to high temperature variance seen in an automobile and can dry out

Polypropylene webbing which is a mix of polypropylene similar to seat belts and rubber will last twice as long before any signs of sagging and is a lot less susceptible to temperatures changes ,( think of your seat belts )

If you want the strongest flexible Nylon webbing is supposed to be even stronger than polypropylene.

Now with the type of use we do we probably are talking 15 vs 25 years or more
But you need about 22-25ft with 2 cars to do at $0.36 per ft vs $3.78 it’s a no brainer for me

Interesting for future reference
I took mine appart and they’re not as bad as I thought originally so I’ll probably reuse the foam and just add to it
Also I realize the the seats shape are substantially different in a 67.5-70 so MGB/Mustang foam may not work

I made a replica fuel filler vent hose based on a photo I found on here and from Ross. Spring looks like it should be yellow zinc but oh well.

Interesting thing looking at the photo you can see where the tube is positioned. Clearly the fuel cap cannot be aligned straight.

It might just be that only the tubing has yellowed. After increasing the size of that photo the Spring may not be yellow zinc. Wondering what the Spring does in a vapor line?

Interesting, I don’t recall my 69 that I have owned since it was 2 years old had a spring in it. May just on early cars?

Not sure if or where I might have my four brake and clutch 'spring retainer' so I'm making some out of nylon spacers.

Yeah, I just zoomed in on your butt foam photo and saw the P/N..MGB is it. Seat back as well? The bottom looks pretty darn close, the back not so much
