A guy here in kc metro (opks) really has a brand new auto lift he will never use .

Here's the sad details . my sister lives in this $$$$ a month apts in OPKS . the couple in the back of her building apparently has some $$$$$, new 4x4 ford truck and a. very late model. Mercedes AMG. & another nice new ride ( mercedes model ??? but it is sporty ,assume and midsized custom paint 80 to 110k new 4 sure) they have the 2 car garage
I went out to lunch with my sister on Wednesday ans saw he had a new car lift on a pallet just outside .

She called me today telling the man put together the lift
I' bet its 4 post , I'd bet he did not bolt it down or not right
As she said he had a car on it and it colasped onto him
The ambulance came and left with out him heard he died
BE CAREFUL/ CAUTIOUS... UNDER YOUR CARS.

Very sad indeed. One of the very few disadvantages of a two post over a four post is that they are more dangerous for the amateur. You need to pay attention to how your load is balanced, and keep in mind that if you remove significant weight off one end the car could tilt toward the other end. Another factor to consider is the depth and strength of your concrete.

Im a 2 post guy all the way btw,
asymmetric the way to go 1 of the bolts takes 51,000 lbs to pull out of the 5k # 5"concrete and mine has 7 per lift
Yes balance is critical Id say a twist did him in a 2 post would have to be bolted fully
Right ...I saw the lift , it was light gray posts with white and yellowish arms
It may have been a 5ft 4 post non drive on lift
wonder who's it was?
He wasnt allowed to have it there and bet as such was reluctant to sink bolts in the concrete.
I worked a a dealership that had been a bank
It had 11ft ceilings with SUVs you had to work in a. desk chair. & I was puzzeled by why it had new concrete 3ft around the lift posts
another tech said "oh yeah they drilled bolts and found it was only 3.5 " thick" .
I quit before I had to work on the next suv

I'll stick with my floor jacks and (always 4) jackstands. The oil stain on my nose comes off in a few days

I had such a situation when I needed to move my car from New York to California. I searched online and found a car carrier company with good reviews and affordable rates. The process was very simple. I contacted them through their website and on the website I found all the information I needed. For a car transfer from New York to California, I paid 2150$ and the car was delivered in 8 days, but it depends on the type of car you have, I have a 2014 Toyota Camry(sedan).
You can find additional information about the car company in this article: https://www.a1autotransport.com/.

We put in a 4 post lift after investing the options and safety of 2 Post asymmetrical lifts. It’s been a back saver! And I can rack & stack two rust buckets at once. Although my neighbors are perplexed when they come over to barrow the occasional tool. “how did ya get that thing in ther?’😮
