I have the same one on my car. It is a copy of the BRE Spook 2 airdam. The center section is for an oil cooler, and the openings on the sides are for brake ducts. The real challange is to mount the thing. I used DZUS fasteners but needed to weld some tabs to attach it to onto the front fenders of the car. That said, it does create some downforce, but it also creates a nice low pressure area that sucks hot air from around the engine and cools it nicely. CDM has them for about $150.

Sorry, I find modern engine swaps revolting. Keep your G, R, or U series in your Roadster!
If you are not stuck on that specific unit, there is a piece that is made for the MGB that looks really nice installed on a Roadster. Victoria British have them for $130ish, but you can find them for less on eBay. The spook 2 is OK, but honestly, I like the look of the original spook better.
Sid, how much adapting to get the MG part on, do you know?

I have not personally done it, but I have seen a few Roadsters with them on it. I imagine that you need to be creative - not much down there to work with!
I actually experimented with the black plastic lawn edging you see everywhere. A little bit of rebar in the tubular portion lets it hold it's shape, and if you tear it off, you're out about $3.00. My front apron is all cobbled together by the PO anyway, so nothing to loose. You can get nylon nuts and bolts and the whole thing is a breakaway.

I plan one day to replicate the air dam that I had on my first Roadster. It was made of 1/8 inch thick steel sheet! I trimmed all of the speed bumps where I cruised....
