GTI "Fire Sale"

I saw an ad on craigslist for a VW GTI. "Fire Sale!" the seller wrote, meaning a great price. It instantly reminded me of the black GTI that went up in flames:

the first one is sad.... a late model GTi burning

..... the second one, they should have known a ghetto car like that will have problems!!!

A ghetto with twin turbocharged and nitrous injected engines? There was a LOT of money put into that to make it work. Though that rear engine shakes too much for my tastes. Well, before it goes kaboom.

hahahahaha, that was SO cold!!! That red roadster was on cardomain's coverage of a car show, who owns it? my use of "ghetto" was referring to flames.... a well tuned car wouldnt do that!!

My dad has a 78 camaro that has probally 1/4 the money in it and it runs low 9's in the 1/4....... and it aint never caught on fire!! (except that one time the carb blew back a 4 foot flame, but a quick hefty blow from my dad and it was out

)

Sorry Mark, I just couldn't resist. The set-up was sooo perfect!

Evan, no, I have not drag raced the roadster yet. I've blown up the diff once already and I'm in no hurry to do so again! IF I had a real diff, IF I could get traction, and IF I could drive, I'd imagine it would be solidly in the 12s.

time for that nice little 4link/ford 9" setup from Summit racing, and tub the rear.... then you could slap on a set of 10" slicks!! sry, I was at the drag strip last night!

I hear ya! That would probably be a good project for next winter. Minus the 10 inch slicks. I like having the car look like nothing but a nice condition, 37 year old, Datsun. From the outside, there's no way of knowing what's lurking under the hood!

very good point, stick with the libres (spelling??), but maybe m/t drag radials? or nitto drag radials in the back?

my car was blowing flames out of the carbs today..... it was ghetto b4 now it is really ghetto
