Stroker exhaust question

I wanted to get some input on what I should do with my stroker for exhaust.

It's currently R16 stroked with R16 rods and 300ZX pistons, Solex 40's and a mild street cam. I currently have the standard header from Dean, but was wondering since I increased my intake, do I need to increase my exhaust? I'm no engine expert, so appreciate any input.

Thanks in advance

Tim

My guess is the 1 3/4 exhaust pipe will be fine but there is math to help the decision.
Muffler will probably be critical to flow.
Have you considered a dyno run? It can tell you a lot more than my wags.

The header is only 1 1/2," not 1 3/4"--that's part of my concern. I was looking at Dean't site and the 2L header is 1 5/8".

My stroker isn't too much different than a 2L engine, although most people use 44's solexes on the 2L

Maybe I'm overthinking it, but would rather address it now vs. later.

thx

The individual (primary) pipes on the header are 1 1/2” that is plenty. No need at all for 1 5/8 primaries. 1 3/4 exhaust will work fine for this. With the 67.5 you won’t be able to go much bigger anyway without cutting up the frame.
