I note that a lot of the guys on this board have the round fog lights, and I really like the look (my car does not have them.. yet) In particular, I like the ones with the amber lens.

I imagine the original equipment ones are nearly impossible to come by, so what about an aftermarket model?

What brand and model works well on these cars, and looks fairly original?

I have heard that the JC whitneys look very good and are somewhat close to originals?

I don't have a front bumper so mine are rectangle and peer through the bumper bracket holes. At one time I went for that stock look but I learned the hard way the front bumper is cosmetic so I did not replace it after the crash. They are stealth looking until I turn then ON!

Thanks for the tip. They were just what I was looking for, and are now on the way (with a relay, I don't want to burn up the stock switches)

I have those same foglights, they look great! a word of advice though - if you want the amber lenses, you have to order two - I think they are listed as "sets" in the catalog, but i only recieved one...

DON'T ORDER REPLACEMENT LENSES!!!! If you want amber lenses (really dark orange on this light set - not the yellow), then buy the amber fogs. If you order lenses, you just get the outer lens. the problem is that the lens is glued to the reflector. I spoke with the MFG, and they say that you cannot replace just the lens, you have to replace the lens/reflector unit which is not sold by Whitney.

I found out the hard way - I had to ship stuff back and get the ones I wanted...

Perhaps there were two seperate runs of these lights, because the lens is not attatched to the reflector on my set. I wanted to see if I liked the amber lens better so I put on the one that I had. It fit fine and I had no problem. There is a rubber gasket between the lens and the reflector, but it was not attached in any way.

That could be. I just know that my wife bought the Amber when I wanted clear. I bought amber lenses and ended up dealing with the manufacturer directly. I almost became a distributor...

Awesome idea on the lights in holes.... can I steal the idea?(ive been wanting to add better lighting but didnt want to drill big holes)

Though my car hasn't really run in a year, I too have those JC Whitney specials. They come with 100 watt bulbs which is a bit much for use in traffic. I swapped out some 55watt bulbs and can leave them on with oncomming traffic.

Tough to beat for the price.

Here's a suggestion. I bought Lucas reproduction fogs, with a fluted clear lens. I took out the bulbs and sprayed them amber, using a paint designed for coloring glass when making candles. The amber color is visible off the reflector. Looks very cool. It can be purchased at Michaels Crafts. I think it is a national franchise.

my JC lights came with a spare set of amber glass. I never used them. I might still have them. I swapped 130W H1s in to match my 90/130W standard lights.

Never enough candlewatts on a dark and twist night...
