Side trim question?

Are the side trim pieces interchangable from right to left on my early 67 Roadster? I have some better ones on a parts car, but they are on the other side of the car. Thanks, Mark

As far as I know, yes they are interchangable. If you look on the back side, there are sliding tabs that allow you to ajust them some what. Be careful when you remove them as they tend to rust and will brake off. The tabs are replaceable, you just have to find some that will fit.

They can be put on the "wrong" side, but the ends are shaped differently at the door openings. Look closely and you will see that the trims are mirror images....

Anyone know where to get replacement tabs to hold the trim on the car?

Rallye has them all right, are you ready for this, it's over $100 for a whole set!! The cheapest one is $3.45, just for one!!! Unless I'm doing my math wrong, but their site clearly says "each." Are these made out of gold or just impossible to find? Anyone have any other suggestions?

They are not special, but these are Nissan parts. You could check with the dealer to see if they can get them - a lot of dealers will laugh at you when you ask though. Or you can take an old clip and go pester a body supply house for a replacement that will work. There should be a suitable replacement - it may look different, but work the same. Who cares what it looks like anyway!

Yeah they're hidden anyway. I just sent you an e-mail Sid, looking for some more parts.

A little off the roadster path but I am doing a mini-resto on my '72 Z and found a place called Restoration Specialties. They carry all kinds of hard to get bits and pieces. I bought some windlace from them for the Z. Check them out at

They have a fantastic supply of parts and such, but would not know a Roadster if you ran them over in one. Nice folks though. A lot of their products can be used on Roadsters - you just have to be open minded and creative. They go to the Turkey Rod Run in Daytona, so I get to look at the actual goods rather than the black and white photo in the catalog. A great resource that I forget to mention. Thanks Steve!!
