My 1966 Roadster came with what I was told was a U20 engine. But, as shown in the attached photos, there is no engine number on the passenger side of the block, between cylinders 2 and 3. The photos show that overall the engine looks like a U20, but I'd appreciate any suggestions on where the engine number is stamped, and whether this might not be a U20 engine. Many thanks! Tom BTW the "VIN" number is SPL311-03471

The number will be stamped on the flat unpainted rusty area in pic #3. If no number than its a replacement block or has ben ground off . Yes it's a U-20. You need a new air filter :D

definitely U20....looks nice too! im pretty sure the block isn't the factory color so its probably been rebuilt.... clean that flat area and you will most likely find the number. From the vin tho you have a 1600 that would have come with an r16
