Original color for U20 valve color

Can anyone speak to the appropriate original color for the valve color on a 68 U20? Mine is kind-of orangish-red. Here is a picture:
Also, my block is black but I'm assuming the original color is the blue the vendors sell.
I'm not obsessed with being original, in fact I'm adding quite a few updated touches, but in this case I'd like the engine to look original.
Thanks.

Andy,
The valve cover had no color. It was bare alum., they can be polished to a high gloss finish. Blue is the original color of the block, i've seen cars paint the block to match to car. Just an idea.

Excellent. Great pictures. Thanks for posting them.
Purple it is. J/k.
I think I'll strip mine down and see how clean I can get it, with the goal being the bare aluminum look. If I can't get it to look nice I'll think about painting it again or having it powdercoated in silver.

Thanks Alvin for posting the purple valve cover. We had it powder coated that color to match the head light bazels, tail lights. dash and roll bar. The car is at Mike Kerrs place untill I come to Sacramento next spring to do some racing. Perry, now in Guanajuato, Mexico
