Since I will be doing a LOT of work on this car, thought I would start its own thread.

Done lotsa stuff over last few days.
1) bought some custom matched paint ($50) - amazing - perfect blend
2) removed - polished front bumper + overriders
3) polished driver side aluminum
4) removed tie rod, stripped, painted - alignmnent was waaaay off
5) Removed all driver side vinyl - in process of replacing
6) bought card stock, vinyl, foam to replace all 'panels'
7) reglued inside door cap.
8) derusted, cleaned, reglued, painted rear cockpit surround
9) 'mocked' up inside 'carpet' door insert - let's see how long it will last
10) adjusted inside door pull
11) Bought trunk weather strip from local owner - hate the installation process, but needs must
12) Added additional trunk,hood openers
13) With Emmy's (zetec311) help - fixed 'proper' hood opener - yet to install

PHEW!!

Unfortunately had to install my 'original' seats - while the current ones look pretty - all the webbing was trashed and rails corroded - there was even a cushion placed under the driver seat to support it.

Don't think this car had much 'love' from PO. runs well, but cosmetics are 20 footer.

Up to do, replace all vinyl, panels, remove carpet from parcel tray and rear, and replace with more correct vinyl. Get front bumper supports straightened, remove passenger side aluminum, polish etc. Rear bumper. Somehow fix seats

Ongoing project to leave her in better shape than she arrived. ALso attend to mechanincs, valves, spark plugs, wires, coil etc.

Fortunately the door and sill aluminum was pretty straight. Just used a buffing wheel with progressive rouges. I was frankly amazed at how well they came up.

Pete,
was this purchased from Mike Young, and how is it doing now?
