Looks like registry was hacked

Post by S Allen »

It was brought to my attention today that someone was having an issue adding their car into the registry. He sent me a screen shot with a MYSQL error. So, I went and tried it and sure enough the connection is being refused. I am looking into it but have no idea when I will get it solved. I went into the web server logs and the some Russian hackers have been busy for quite a while now. I know several days ago we were getting database connection could not be established on everything-forum-main website-all of it. Found the the MYSQL server had been stopped for some unknown reason. Now, I know why. I restarted the server and thought all was good until today. Nothing has been lost as I have backups but I need to reestablish the connection through the interface. Some people just do not have anything constructive to do.

Not that any one probably cares but I was able to sort the problem out and cleared the hacked code so it works once again. Until next time. Second time in the last month. First time they put code in the WordPress config file so the site would not load.

Thank you for putting time into something so complicated that I didn't understand most of what you wrote.
Remember, I have a fifty year old car whose technology sometimes is beyond me too.

Hey thanks Steve for the update. Sorry that happened to you/us but don't stress too much. Take your time :) ... it's kind of inevitable in today's world unfortunately. Thanks again for all of your hard work/time/energy with all you do!

Frustrating but I like a challenge now and then.
