Does anyone have a list of what the different finishes where on different parts of the car? Specifically chrome vs polished. Thanks

The stainless stuff was either polished or brushed, the chrome was chrome. Some of the chrome on the interior was painted silver (I think all the gauge surrounds on the early cars were silver painted chrome.) The wing windows on the later cars were chrome that was painted silver on the inside as well.

Man-I'd think that would be a long, tough list to compile. Basically, anything that wasn't plastic, upholstered or painted was either plated (of some sort), bare metal (like aluminum engine parts) or polished. In addition, the finishes on some of the parts changed over the years and on a few, even from year to year. Big job to make a list like that.
If there are specific parts you're not certain of, it might be easier to ask about those specifically.

Varies for different years, (early vs late). Early cars exhibit more chrome. Late cars less. Two lists required .).)

Was the center Datsun grill chromed? It isn't magnetic, so I think it is stainless, but as I polish it out I still have very minor pitting in it. Was it originally chromed? How do most people get these restored?
