Thanks Steve, yes its a lot of info and its also interesting because you see how we are definitely trending in an upward motion. I still feel that Roadsters are undervalued and one its going to skyrocket, could be sooner than later.

Ok, so we've now hit 50 Roadsters auctioned on Bring a Trailer. Interesting things to take note of...

There has been 18 U20 powered, and 18 R16 powered Roadsters. I included a few of the 1600s that had U20s swapped in under the U20 category.

The average selling price for the "stock cars" has been right at $12k ($11,918 & $12,120). These vary in different phases of restoration and modifications, but for the most part are "stock"

There was one '64 1500 that was auctioned off with proceeds going to chariry and it sold for $27,250.

The swap cars are a bit of a catchall with 7 auctioned and 5 different motors swapped in (2 - L20s, 1- SR20, 1- SR20DET, K24, Miata and Zetec), they average at $16,200, but that range is $5,000-$34,000)

Racecars are also right in that $12k range with $12,433 being the average of the 6 cars.

All in all, 50 cars auctioned, 43 hit reserve and of the 7 that didnt hit reserve, Im pretty sure half were then sold privately but I have no proof. Call it a 90% success rate on Roadsters being auctioned off.

That i have been doing extensive work on (admittedly as usual ,prob have invested more that ill prob get)
But i have a hard time leaving things alone lol.
My 67 is that way , but this one unfortunately will have to go soon... as i need the room and may be moving in the poss near future.
My thought was to list on BAT just wondering what they will want to put reserve @. I know they negotiate pretty aggressively for a low reserve.
The market is what it is , but ive seen some pretty decent ones sell on Ebay pretty low.
Maybe ill post some pics here and get opinions??

I would start a new thread dedicated to the car, but from what Ive seen with Bring a Trailer, the closer to stock and original/ restored original the better they do

The thing about BaT is people actually can see what is well done and what is not. There is a large user base of people who know what they are talking about. If you want top dollar, dont leave unanswered questions, or iffy work.

Just an FYI, this one sold AT THE RESERVE the week after the auction.. The buyer rented a car, brought it to Kevin's shop, did the deal, met Kevin in case any issues popped up, and drove away in the roadster. Seller drove the rental home.
