Hi is anyone running the 273/35/15 Hoosier slicks under their roadster? I have 15x10" wheels and used to run Dunlops, but am thinking of switching, and wanted to know if the A7 would be too soft for circuit work, eg 3-5 lap sprints mainly, but hillclimbs etc. Otherwise i'll go the R7's to be safe

I've raced this one since the early 90's (although this photo is actually my wife) PO's raced it since 1969

The tires you mentioned aren't really slicks but are DOT racing tires. You might want to consider the 245/580R15 racing slick. It's available in 3 racing compounds and is designed for circuit racing.

I'm late to the thread, but theres' a big difference between true race slicks and DOT cheater slicks. The R7/A7 weigh considerably more with thicker sidewalls and tread depth. Even the softer A7s can't warm up as fast as a sticky soft slick. But they certainly won't last as long either. But if you're just looking for max performance over short runs, with cost and wear not an issue, nothing like a fresh set of soft slicks (25-45 compound Avon/Goodyear/Hooiser etc)

I'm not sure we get the proper slick here, will have a talk to the supplier again - looks like R80 is softest compound
