oil filter mount

i want to change my early 1600 style filter to the later style which is the screw on type filter.i have the later oil filter mount so what else is involved in chaning it over?
All you may really need is a new gasket. They are otherwise a direct bolt on. As a matter of fact one of my roadsters is running with a Chevy spin on filter mount. I have no clue what the application is. The old cannister ones are kind of cool but it is much easier buying a filter, spinning off the old and spinning on the new.
