Has anyone out there populated the Dyno2000 simulator with the U20?

I'm about to do this myself, but due to chronic laziness, I wonder if someone already has the dyn files that I can steal and use for my own filthy pleasures.

Without having actual flow numbers I don't expect to get accurate results, but still want to use it to play around with relationships between cams and valve sizes, etc.

I played with it a million years ago, but haven't touched it in years. Do you have a link for a new version of it? (I think my version was windows 2000 or XP)

The version I downloaded is from 2001. Oldie but a goodie! But seems to run fine on Windows 10. There is probably a newer version but why bother if the old one works.

Did you save any of your old work?

I can probably find the link if you don't have this version. let me know.

My friend Steve may have some flow numbers for a stock U20 head as well as mine through various modifications. If it would be helpful, I will see if he can get me some numbers to play around with. If so, be patient as he's a very busy guy (and he may poo poo all of this... he has little belief in such things and might say "Greg, get off the Damn internet!"). I will see what I can do.

Thanks Greg, I have time. I'm not even sure how much I'll use the simulation results to influence my rebuild choices. But still curious to experiment with modelling.

Maybe I should learn my a$$ how to use the flow chambers at work?

Been playing around with Dyno2000 and entered several flow test files from the 'How to Hotrod & Race your Datsun' book, including a smogged L20B and two ported heads.

While I wouldn't exactly take the results and go painting HP numbers on the hood, it is certainly a learning experience to experiment with it. To be sure, the model probably contains a number of simplifications that limits its sophistication. Maybe the most tell-tale sign of inaccuracy was that I was able to come up with some volumetric efficiency figures close to 100%. Yeah right, wouldn't *that* be nice...

I might spring for the latest version of the software sometime soon. In the meantime, if anyone wants the .flw files or the .dyn files I am happy to share them.

Do you know what pressure these flow points were taken at? 25" of H2O is commonly used.
