"Kegger"... 70 SPL to U20

VIN SPL31129791 built 2/70
So previously I had purchased this 69 SRL with a solidly locked U20 setup. I had been gathering parts (including another complete U20 and other spares for it) and came across this 70 SPL that was in much better condition and a much more solid starting point. So I put the SRL up for sale and a nice gentleman from CT bought it for the shell. He wasn't interested in the driveline so I ended up keeping that.

So moving on... The 70 was found through a local CL ad and popped up one morning while I was at work. I wasted no time and called the guy who had taken it on trade about 15 years ago and it had been sitting since. I told him if it was as it appeared and he described I would take it. So I headed over and took a look at the car. It was as described and as a bonus came with a trunk full of NOS OEM and aftermarket parts (from Rallye from what I can tell as one of the catalogs was in the trunk). Then he mentioned he also had a bunch of other spare parts. I scooped those up as part of the package price and off we went.
From what I can tell the car hasn't been on the road since about 1991 (per the last inspection sticker). Guessing someone blew the engine or decided it needed refreshing and pulled it all apart. The original 1600 block (appears to have been bored and machined a long long time ago) is there but quite rusted as it was stored with no plan for longevity. Crank, etc. However... I have other plans. I want a U20 powered car. I'm sure some here will claim blasphemy but with all the SR and other swaps I can't see why this is a terrible thing to do.
First up is suspension. Making my list.. checking it twice. Have the parts to redo the bearings and such but need to source the rest of the hard parts including comp springs, sway bar and shocks. I have a set of '66 rear leafs that I'm going to have rebuilt and hopefully that will give me a good chassis to start with before I dig into the motor swap stuff.
