Datsun Roadster Racing Forum

Post by 2mAn »

Does anyone know what happened there and why its dead? Seems like it was a solid group of like-minded Roadster racers??..

I bumped a thread and got a response so maybe theres hope for it, though I wonder if its possible to just merge that info here, if thats even possible

Looking through the classifieds there makes me sad because I see so much cool stuff

You mean risensonracing? Not sure there is a real reason, other than it just lost momentum and more of the traffic moved to 311.org.

Personally I've been away from roadster forums for a while, having switched to building a 240z, and then adopting a 53 Chevy, and life getting in the way etc etc etc.

Looking to build up a spare U20 and maybe resto my 69 beater, so I am (for selfish reasons) back on the forums...

I think a lot of the traffic shifted here. Plus, there are several Datsun racing groups on Facebook that probably absorbed some as well. Though I do agree, it was a neat group with lots of interesting threads.

It's still technically there, but agreed the traffic has dribbled to zero for quite some time now. All my roadsters are gone now, so eventually I"ll take the site down probably later this year. But happy to see things seem to be alive an well here!!

Best,

It would be cool to export it and import it to another site for historic value.

Hi Chris, theres a wealth of knowledge there, it will be a shame for it to all get lost...

I have offered to Chris to move the forum to my hosting service to keep it alive. Still waiting to hear back from him. I would prefer to keep the forum intact as it is instead of trying to merge it into 311s.org. It would just have a new home but all of the old threads would be there as well as the users.

There is a ton of good info on the risenson forum. I still refer back to it from time to time.

Sorry, I find modern engine swaps revolting. Keep your G, R, or U series in your Roadster!

Just an update. I did get in touch with Chris and will eventually move the Roadster Racing Forum to 311s host provider. Chris is quite busy with work and life so it will not happen until sometime after May/June. I plan to keep the forum separate from 311s.org. So, that should be good news to all you racers out there. There is indeed a lot of good info that would be a shame to lose. Thanks.

Just an update on this. I have contacted Chris several times and so far no response. I know he was moving in June. It will not take much to move once he gives me control over the old website. Thanks.
