I've been a member here for 4 years as I've been working through some things on the 64 1500 Roadster that I have. The forum and Tech Wiki have helped me through a bunch of things. I just picked another roadster, this one is a 66 1600. The frame on the 1600 is a mess, rusted out in several places and I wanted to transfer a bunch of parts to the 1500 such as the disc brakes and negative ground wiring harness and carbs. That being said, most of the car is there and repairable. A while back I saw some cars in the classifieds on the East coast in Maryland I think ?? Is there a way that I can see if those cars might still be available by contacting the poster on the classifieds ? Or does anyone know of a decent frame or project car on the East coast ?? I'm located up here in New England, RI.

The 64 and 66 roadster wiring are completely different and not interchangeable. Dash and gauges don't match up, fuel, temperature and probably oil sender work different.

Contact Cole Hastings. I think that he has a spare frame.

There is nothing on the wiring harness that really needs to be changed to switch to negative ground. Just change the radio and alternator iirc.

Someone just posted a free rolling chassis from a ‘70 roadster on the Roadster Mailing list if you are interested. It’s located in Rockport Maine.

To swap a 64 to negative ground you need to unhook the radio, use a later alternator and reverse the coil wires. That’s it.
