Seat Belt Buckle Disassembly?

I'm wanting to rechrome the non-painted parts of my 69's seat belt buckles and can't tell if there's any way to take the buckles apart to separate the plated from the painted components. Can it be done? Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Don

Unless you are going for completely original there are new aftermarket seat belts that look period correct for less cost than what you would pay to have your buckles restored, not to mention how compromised the 50 year old webbing is.

Thanks Mike. Yes, I know there are other aftermarket buckle alternatives but I am going for as original as possible as part of my restoration plan. None of the aftermarket buckles have the same design as the original two-toned chromed/painted look. My hope is to restore the hardware and re-web the belts as close a possible to original look.
