Dear Roadster Fans!
As you know, Datsun was the featured marque at The Mitty in April this year. HSR produced a TV show chronicling the event called “Trackside Time Machines”. It will air this Saturday, November 24 from 8-10am (EST) on CBS Sports Network. Be sure to set those DVRs as no re-airs are planned!

A guide to the 4-part series, ending with a 30minute episode on Datsun/Nissan:


EPISODE 1

"LEGENDARY ENDURANCE RACERS AND CAN-AM CLASSICS"

Episode 1 looks at HSR groups 6 and 7 with endurance racers like the Porsche 962, Kudzu, Lola T-70 coupe and TOJ-BMW. The episode also features Can-Am cars such as a Lola T-70 Spyder and a Lola T332/Schkee.

EPISODE 2

"STOCK CARS, GRAND TOURING AND OPEN-WHEEL RACERS"

HSR groups 4, 5, 8 and 9 are featured, with NASCAR-style Dodges and Chevrolets, along with a Shelby GT350, a Cheetah, an F5000 McRae and a Formula Atlantic March.


EPISODE 3

"RACING SPORTS CARS FROM THE FIFTIES TO THE NINETIES"

Sports and production cars from all around the world, spanning five decades, are covered in this episode. Cars range from early model Austin-Healey Sprites to Yenko Stingers to Sunbeams, Morgans and Daimlers, with a dash of comedian Adam Carolla thrown in to spice things up.

EPISODE 4

"A NISSAN AND DATSUN CELEBRATION"

Trackside Time Machines rounds out it coverage of The Mitty with a variety of historic and iconic Datsuns and Nissans, the featured marque of the event. Host Bill Stephens also spends some quality time with the event's Grand Marshal, racing legend John Morton.

FYI for other locals in Tacoma WA with Dish network, channel 158 at 6:30am.

Too bad they just showed Episodes 1 and 2 twice each, instead of showing episodes 3 and 4 ;-(

Was wondering if I missed something.. Saw both episodes twice myself..

From the producer:

"Alvin- yeah the network totally screwed up as you described. I’ve already started my way up the network food chain to get this straightened out and I will let you and everyone know when the make good airings will be. I am so angry and frustrated but maybe I can wrangle some extra airings out of them."

Good news everyone! CBS will finally air the Datsun episodes as originally planned:

"Alvin-

After a week of discussions with the CBS Sports Network, I am pleased to say that the "lost episodes" of Trackside Time Machines have been scheduled for air.

Episode 3, which covers sports and production racecars (including some Datsun/Nissans and Adam Carolla), will air on Saturday December 15th at 10:00 am (Eastern Time).

Episode 4, which focuses exclusively on Datsun/Nissan as the Mitty featured marque and includes grand marshal John Morton, will air immediately after episode 3.  That airtime is December 15th at 10:30 am (Eastern Time).

CBSSN has graciously provided us with additional airdates for both episodes the following day at 6:00am and 6:30 am."

fingers crossed they get it right this time

Watching currently... is the sound messed up for anyone else? It seems to only have the answers to questions posed to the owners/drivers and generic background music...


EDIT: the datsun/nissan segment seems fine

I of course forgot to set my DVR.. hoping to see it tomorrow.
