Greetings.....
The part of the hood/bonnet latch that is "fixed" to the cowl is not allowing the little neck of metal to come out far enough to catch the latch on the bottom of the hood.
Not sure what is going on as this has not been a problem before.
Help, please

Not sure if your problem is getting hood to latch down or to release (open).
Is hood hitting on fenders?
Need more info

you can adjust the "little neck" loosen the nuts and unscrew it to the right height.

There is a secondary hood latch arrangement in the Wiki section. It is on my list of things to do before I put the lid back on and it would be a good thing to have before making experimental adjustments.

I think what he is referring to the emergency hood latch release via the zip tie or cable addition... just in case the stock one fails and you can't open the hood. Same thing should be done for the trunk.

Adjust/lengthen the cable sheath in the clamp. Lube the guillotine (Blade). The rear of the blade is nested on a pin and not fixed. It can hang up and not pivot all the way over. Lube.
Push the release handle/knob in.
