Back in the early 80's JC Whitney sold a Thunderbird header that could be bought painted black or chromed for pretty cheap. I bet that you have a Thunderbird.

im sure its the header that has cause my exhaust to not really be lined up correctly so that it hits the frame on startup and shut down. Well and the fact that the exhause hanger in the rear is broken off lol

One other thing to look at is your motor mounts, make sure they are not worn or broken.

Thats what i thought it was to begin with but they are nice and somewhat soft. Although the engine does vibrate a bit on startup, what is hitting is the exhaust. Is the exhaust suppose to rout through the frame?

Exhaust travels through frame X member on its way to the back.

Do you have a flex joint between header and exhaust?

There are also the "Pretzel straps" and rubber insulators where it goes through the crossmember, if these are broken, clearances are very tight and it will hit.

My first Roadster had a Pacesetter chrome header. Really fit badly. Tri-Mil, I think, is the only current supplier through vendors.
