Greeting from Finland

Hi and greeting from Finland! I am long time reader and first time poster in this forum. Have been looking to buy roadster for a few years and finally bought this -69 2000 last month from California. It is still sailing somewhere between US and Europe and hopefully it arrives about month or so.

Roadsters are rare cars here in Finland and I haven´t ever even seen one. The car I bought is painted about 3 years ago and should be in driving condition. Interior is pretty bad, it is missing soft top and seller said that there are some electric problems. Im still on the fence if I am keeping original engine or change it to something else.

My previous project was 240Z that I also bought from California and it was almost rust free. It is always a gamble to buy a car when you have only seen pictures of it but lets see how this turn out to be.

One pic from harbour.

Welcome and good luck with your project. Hopefully you got some good bones under that fresh paint.

Welcome Teemu,
Based on the older rear bumper and no side markers, it looks like it has had some work done to it over the years. Hopefully the body is as nice in real life as the pics!
I'm sure your Roadster will attract lots of attention and curiosity up there.

Looks like you might have a 68 sold as a 69. Rear bumper is a 68 and no side lights.

Thanks! According to VIN it is 68 and title says 69. I do hope that there is not too much body filler under that paint.

Once you get it I have several drawings that will make finding the electrical problems easier.

I assumed that it is original silver but can´t be sure. I also like silver color even though it is kind of boring. I painted my 240Z with different shade of silver and loved that.
Picture of my old 240Z

Im redoing interior so now need to decide if I should choose black or red.
Decision decisions...

Blue ? Maybe .. red I've never liked for interior for some reason . But it's not my car ..lol.. I doubt if it's original color . Silver was used allot (and blue) but not exactly like yours . Looks almost a powder coat or pearl if picture depicts correctly .. anyway it's sick ! (Meaning awesome) :-)

Finally car arrived to Finland and it was as seller described. Paintwork is nowhere near perfect but I think it can be polished to be little be better. Frame is in pretty good shape and I don´t think it need any welding. Engine started but brakes are stuck so didn´t drive it yet.

As I am new to roadsters what is "best" place to get all parts? datsunparts.com?
It would be best if I get all parts from same place. I need lots of parts for interior, weatherstrips, soft top and also some parts for suspension (front lowering springs, bushings, brake parts, etc).
