Here is a great low cost option for those who want to keep a Japanese alternator on the roadster.

Good for either 68-70 1600 or 2L with ZERO modifications. Simple install, No changes to mounting, No changes to wiring harness.

Would I be able to change location of alternator. Right not it s on carb side and a bitch to remove. I had to remove radiator to get it out. Seems like there’s a ton of room on other side. Will the same brackets sent with these alternators fit this option? Please email me at elitedevinc@aol.com

Thank you, yes, we have used that alternator on the right side, but we typically use others just due to better fit. Several right hand options available:

Self regulated:

Lower cost (requires oem regulator):

All these look, work, and fit great, with properly machined components. All these are complete mounting kits with alternator included.

JT, what belt are you using for the datsun 2000 with alternator on the driver side? Went to Napa and got one that I though would work but it was slightly too small and went with the next size up and it was too big.
