Signs Of A Roadster Maniac Take Two

Post by S Allen »

A few years ago Gary Boone posted a "Signs of a Roadster Maniac" to the roadster list. People added to it and it grew rather large. It is on the main website. I thought it would be fun to compile a new list of signs of this afflication we all pretty much have in common. I will start it and we can see where it goes.

You know you have got the roadster bug when you have more than two roadsters-one running and one or two parts cars-quite possibly in pieces scattered about the house and yard.......but you are still looking for another one. You know that elusive 1500 or that 67.5 2 liter.

If you visit this site more than once a day you are smitten.

You have a Datsun Roadster Only Parking sign in your garage(full of roadsters and parts) and your better half's car sits outside.

Okay, that is a start. Let's see where this goes.

You know you're a roadster maniac when...

* You own the "elusive" 67 2000, a 1500 and even a 1966 modern powered KA24DE roadster...yet you still continue to look at the datsun classified ads...

* You have more than 1,400 posts on the 311s.org forum site :)

[INSERT VENDOR NAME HERE] is on your speed dial and knows your credit card number so well you don't need to provide it when you call.

When........

When you're caught taking roadster parts out of the dishwasher and really don't understand why SWHBO is upset.

Yup, been caught, now I time the cycles!

when you would rather get kicked out of your house than sell the datsun. I mean come on, i can live in the car! :D sheesh

maybe when you over pay for one, drive it a mile down the road and blows a head gasket, then you have to fix awhole bunch of stuff and you just say that it needed it anyways. :? (justifying a purchase that was done to quick)

and of course it is never done, you could have a 10,000 67.5 2000 roadster that was garage kept, and you would still find stuff that it needed  well you know honey i need these $800 fog lamps, the car is nothing with out them!!, or i need a time machine to replace the air in the tires from the day that it was built, and of couse along with about aaa i don't know 1,000 more new or less than 5,000 miles car, and every part that is avaiable. and you don;t even think of fixing some problems, she might tho', marrying you!

If none of the above posts seem at all strange, and in fact most make sense to you...
