All but the radio and windshield washer work :D
Rear bumper fit poorly, so I removed it, removed the gaurds and manipulated the brackets for a better fit.
Same on the front. Removed the front bumper and replaced it with a bumper I bought from Ted a couple of years ago.
Removed the black grille and replaced it with a grille I bought from Steve a few years ago. Thanks again Steve.
Ive done some paintless dent repair with the porta power LOL. Brush touched up multiple chips.
Removed the fairlady emblem from the rear panel and added the Datsun badge. Drilled two holes and added a metal 2000 badge.
Sanded the trunk lid, hood and cowl with 1000 and 2000, compounded and polished. Will slowly work my way around the rest of the car.
Didnt feel too confident driving the car aggressively so..........
Removed and replaced the way too stiff rear springs.
Installed VTO classic 8s, 15x7+18 rear, 195/55/15, and 15x6+24 front 185/60/15.
Now I can keep up with Ted.

It might be 76 Porsche 266 ice green metallic. After I sand and polish a fender, I will stop by the paint store for a spectrophotometer analysis. I had some 94 ford light evergreen frost leftover from an old spray, I used for touchup.
Yes 2L 5sp 3.9, will do 90 easily

Looking very nice David!

I just got some poly swaybar bushings for my 1500. Still need to install them though.

Looks sweet Dave!
The colour is very period correct. When you did the 1000/2000, what did you use? I am contemplating some wet sanding on the new paint on the race car - just to manage a little bit of orange peel... your cowl looks like glass...

The paint is uniform, but was difficult to determine whether or not there was clear on it. Really looks like single stage to me.
Left front fender, waaaaay down low by the rocker got a few swipes of used 3M 2000 to test. As the residue dried it turned white...clear! The next guess was how much. I sanded upward with the 2000 till it was smooth and compounded it and polished it..havnt gone though anywhere so im guessing its a standard 3 coats of clear.
The trunklid and hood had some Crows feet, after sanding and compounding its gone! No visible crows feet in the color/base.
The 3M 1000 cuts it a flatter, leaving minimal to no orange peel or texture. the 3M 2000 by itself will leave a little texture.
Pretty sure there is 3000 and even 4000 now.

Removed the wheels and tires and had them balanced. RF took about 2 1/4 oz. The others 1/2 oz.
Changed the engine oil and filter. Changed the trans and diff fluid. Burnished the drain and fill plugs. Filed a few threads. Tightened misc nuts. Greased the front suspension and steering componants. 1 bad zerk in the forward end of LF lower A arm.
More paintless dent repair lol.
.
Diff coating removed.

Ive driven a 2L 3.7 in the past, thought the 3.9 would gas at about 90, but no. I like it.

Back in the olden days, if we didnt have the paint code on a color change/repaint, and we didnt have our own mix bank, we would take a piece of the car to the paint store. They would mix and match by dabbing the paint on the part.
Nowadays they lay the meter on the paint. Then plug it in to the paint database, and it establishes a formula to mix. Gets it pretty close.
There are still some black art painter tricks to match the metallic and pearl reflective spheres however.....

Dave:
I was glad to see the car in person and it does look better every time there are new shots of it. Wet sanding max is 2500 as far as I know (we just got some in). We just bought a new, expensive polishing paper that is 3000. Over a $100 for a small box. It is not like the 2500 sheets of paper. I will take a photo and post when I get back to the body shop.

So, David, I could take the car into an auto paint store and they could color match?
