You will be sorry if you try to do it with engine in car, 2-1/2 hrs to take it out, and you will have a good result, plus you can check a lot of other stuff while you are in there.. Cheers..

yes. That is where it is leaking. all other freeze plugs are good. It looks like it pushed out the back freeze plug. The engine and trans have been out of this car not that long ago, and things where rebuilt. My guess is that the rear freeze plug was not put in correctly.

I do have it up on my car lift now, and have a cherry picker. Should not be too hard of a job either way.

Once you have everything disconnected to move the engine forward 6-8" its just minutes to pull it the rest of the way.
It will take longer to stab the transmission in the car than it take to pull and reinstall the engine.

Having r+r'd motor more times than I can count, I can attest that it is no easy job to attach the tranny even when the engine is out, so to me it makes more sense to pull it all.
You will already have removed tranny/engine mount bolts, rad, drive shaft, alternator, you are then only a few wires/hoses away from having engine completely free.
