I am recovering my 67.5 seats and would like to replace the seat bottom tension straps. Do any of the vendors offer a premade strap or web for the roadster seats? Rick

I didn't find any when I was rebuilding my seats.
I bought some Pirelli rubber and made my own.
I was able to reuse the metal pcs.
It all turned out fine.

If the vendors don't list it, make sure you get the right stuff from an Upholsterer or supply house.
You need to get high quality and suitable for purpose.

I just made my own and was thinking of making up sets for owners....but then car repairs got in the way....LOL
They are more work that you would think, but well worth the effort.
Pirelli rubber strap material is the correct stuff. Get some leather hole punch pliers to make your holes in the straps. They only stretch 7-10% so you need to be careful in you measurements.

An upholstery guy told me he would make them out of leather. Do they need to be rubber? I thought about using seat belt material or should I just go with rubber and don’t overthink this?

I would suggest that rubber is the go, you want some compliance underneath the squab.

The correct stuff is "Pirelli rubber webbing" You can buy it online.....IIRC you need 10-12' per seat.
This was the cheapest location I found for the correct stuff. If you use the green webbing you will need to double it and stretch it before you install.

I'm sure you could use lots of different materials for the webbing but, most lack the combination of strength and elasticity that the Pirelli webbing has. As an example, if I think of leather belting, there's not much resilience so you wouldn't have much give in the seat after the initial stretch. Same with lawn chair webbing.
I would insist that the upholsterer use the correct materials (or find another guy).

Thanks for letting me not only what to buy and where to get it but also how much to order. For both seats the material was $45 plus shipping so a little more than$30 per seat. After 50 years of sitting and all that comes with that the mesh really needed to be replaced. I also learned what the term is for the web once it’s in the seat upholstery folks refer to that as “the seats trampoline” Thanks again for your help. Rick

I used diver belt webbing. After 1 hear it stretched a little bit. It was the same width as the original seat webbing. I was able to reuse the original metal brackets. I bought twice the length of the original webbing. I used a heavy duty blueprint stapler to secure the extra length. Since only the driver seat straps were over stretched, I only did the driver's seat.

You can use the old straps in some cases if you just tighten it up and punch new holes
