Hello! Back in August my father and I won a Bring a Trailer auction for a '67.5 1600 -> https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1967- ... oadster-3/. We were planning on restoring/making it pretty over the winter months, but that never happened. Fortunately, the time has finally come to begin this process. Since I am a senior in high school, I have the opportunity to take time off school and pursue a senior project. Unsurprisingly, I have chosen to work on the roadster for my project :D . Overall, the car is mechanically sound, so my project will be focused on body work/paint and some performance upgrades. The car also came with Weber carbs and has some fitment issues with the hood, so it would be great to find others with the same carbs. Thanks!

The downdrafts are generally looked at as a poor solution. Get some stock SUs and life will be easier. Nice looking car!

I'm working on a senior project too, but I graduated a year after my car was built :D

I tried the downdraft webers for awhile on my 68 2L... a long time ago. Because they were free. They were a pain in the ass. I agree with Sid. Ditch them, find a set of SU's and you will be much happier and the car will thank you for it! The webers most likely came from a kit designed for a Z car and they are way more carb as a rule than what your little 1600 will need. That, and if you learn to tune SU's, you will be the envy of all your peers... Wait. Nevermind. Most of your peers will have no idea what an SU carb is. Anyhow, you will enjoy street cred on 311s.

Dang I'm senior too and my high school gives zero time off for Roadster work. Lucky!
