Sacramentan looking for a Fair Lady

Post by policywonk57 »

hey guys.. Deborah from Sacramento here. So the E-bay was indeed sniped in the last 5 seconds, the beautiful black cdm was gone by the time I called on Wednesday, and I am probably heading to Middletown (near Calisotga) and into the bay area tomorrow to lookat a couple of 67s...

I will also call Ron is Arizona to chat re one of his cars but I prefer leads in and around Sacramento -- including Bay Area, and/or Central Valley. So -- any advice would be appreciated. Thanks all!

There is a 68 1600 as well

And here is a 70 1600 with issues

I know nothing about any of these cars except what they have in the ads.
Are you going to visit Mike? Say hello.

Here's another 1600. It is more expensive, but the listing says it has been restored from the frame up. Some of it is no longer original, but if you are a stickler for original the seller may still have the oringal steering wheel, seats, etc. http://www.craigslist.com/eby/car/95995885.html

My advice is to figure out exactly what you want (1.6 liter vs 2 liter, low windshield vs high, original vs modified...) and then take your time finding the car that fits your specifications exactly. There are a lot of cars available out there and you can find one that is just what you want. It would be a shame to settle for a car and then have one that is perfect come on the market a week later.

Yep -- saw the Craig's list cars -- not so interested in the blue but may go and visit to see the Black roadster... Yes -- I will see Mike tomorrow and I am very interested in his 67 1600...

Advice has been great. I guess I tend to favor more "restored" than not but I am not an purist. The Blue Craig's list roadster was a bit too modified and I favor the more traditional stock colors...

Anyway --let's see how the visit with Mke goes.. Thanks!
