Possible Frame Swap????

Hello everyone, I am new here and new to these cars. I am not however new to Datsun/Nissan vehicles. Anyway, the question at hand is what are the differences in the frames between the 1600 and the 2000. My girlfriend's grandfather has an old Datsun 2000 ( I believe correct me if I am wrong) but the frame has some major rust issues. I found a frame for a 1600 in AZ and would make the drive to get it, but I am not sure if there is any differences in size, or if that is even possible.

As stated before, I come from working on 350z's and 240sx's and have tinkered with a few 240z's but have never messed with anything this old. If anyone has any suggestions on where to start literature wise or for parts purchases, that information would be greatly appreciated as well.

Thank you all ahead of time for any replies I get and I look forward to getting to know some of you through this forum.

The frames can be swapped between all years. There are differences and the title is connected to the frame, so you are really doing a body swap.
You will need a clean title for the frame.
Depending on the year of the "old" 2000, you might be lessening the value from a little 68-70 to a lot for a 67.5 2000.

PS the frames are very stout, so If its just rusted through on the top where the horse hair contacted the body, it might be best to re-skin the top of the frame.

Thank you Fj20spl311! I guess that you are right and that it would be a body swap. I'm not going to resell the car and don't really need it to be a parts matching car. Its a good body on a rough frame just sitting and wasting away and I just want it to be running again nothing special. All in all though, you did answer my question about the frames and I appreciate that. The rust from what I can tell actually is eating through the frame almost all the way. If the frames are stout, I might be able to bridge and brace it and give it a new "skin" and prevent any rusting from the inside out if possible.

If it were my project, I would separate the body and frame first and clean the old frame to evaluate.
Post so picture and you will get lost of suggestions.
