Going to Solvang?

Heading south on 101 from points north?

We will have a pit stop setup for Roadster lovers throughout the day on Friday 4/27, until we head south ourselves.

Sparkling water, iced tea for drivers, beer and wine for co-drivers. Nuts and chews too! And a really, really, really nice bathroom!

Paso Robles is 90 minutes north of Solvang on 101. And we are 2 minutes from 101 via the 17th street exit to the west. Easy.

When its finally time to head to Solvang, we will do a fun run out the back of our neighborhood taking the most wonderful Peachy Canyon Road up to Vineyard then back down Hwy 46 to 101 and then South.

Give a nod if you plan to stop in and PM me for my # so I can text you arrival details in advance.

Not to highjack this thread, but if you want to finish your trip to Solvang with a guaranteed grin, take Tepesquet Canyon / Foxen Canyon roads, entering Solvang from the "backside". Absolutely epic roadster road.
Unfortunately, I won't be at Solvang this year (again), as the discretionary budget is being spent on a 3-day backroads driving event. (collect bugs and rock chips while exploring backroads using a spirited approach)
If you are leaving Monday morning and headed back up (north) on this road, be careful, as it is trash day and you can come face to face with something that takes up the whole road. (ask me how I know....)

Foxen Canyon!
A killer run in whole or even in part from Palmer road north of Los Alamos.
A good second scenic route to Solvang after Peachy Canyon. These combined will make a 3 hour tour from Paso to Solvang. Watch out Gilligan!
We have Paso pit stop arrivals expected at noon on Friday.
Our anticipated departure to Solvang from Paso is 2 pm.
Aside from beverages, baguettes and charcuterie we have the nicest bathroom room will ever find on the highways of America, and a place to clean upnyour roadster if so desired.
Southbound and down are encouraged to join in.
Hey Lorna, where you gonna pick us up?

I'm coming from San Jose but taking a long route (if anyone wants to follow). The plan is:
McKean/Watsonville Road
152 East
Short run on 101 S
25 S
198 W
Past 101 to either Jolon Road or Lockwood San Lucas to Lockwood
Interlake Road in Lockwood
Nacimiento Lake Dr. / Godfrey Rd. to Paso Robles

If I miss you, I'll continue on to...
101 to Pismo
1 to Lompoc (hotel)

Google says that's 4 hours to Paso. Possible to make it there by 2...won't know until I actually leave. But that patio and promise of lunch is a pretty good incentive to get away early enough to make it by noon-ish . :D

pm sent.

That CA-25 South section I did with a group of fellas just last weekend as par of a backroads drive.
Absolutely epic roads, touring thru a small open valley that gives one the feeling of what California was 200 years ago, and this time of year is gorgeous and green. Welll worth the added time.
Enjoy.
