Hi to all. My name is Kurt Eslick. I am a long time Datsun fanatic. It started when as a young photographer I did pictures for Jim Fitzgerald and Linda Sharp. The amount of stuff you could learn by hanging out in Jim's basement garage was amazing and the people there became great friends. I have owned two 300zx turbos (vin 08 and 09) and one 2+2 all being slick tops. One of them was Jim's personal car. Jim believed the roadster was the best car to learn to race in. The southeast was a hotbed of DP roadsters and Jim was a master with them. Over the last few years I was able to hang out with Keith Hege some and hear all his stories about Jim as well as Bob Sharp. During the time when the racing roadsters were being built Keith was often loaned to Sharp during crunch times. Unfortunately in the past year we lost both Keith Hege and Linda. The number of people with good inside knowledge of those days is dwindling. When Linda passed away she left me her street roadster, a one owner 68 that has been sitting for a long time. A few years ago we had discussed putting a modern engine in it and fixing it up enough for her to drive. I have started that chore now. If you would like to follow my progress with this car I have started a blog
